The Sinn Spezialuhren company was founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1961 by Helmut Sinn, a former pilot and flight instructor. In the 1990s, Helmut Sinn sold the company to Lothar Schmidt, an engineer who previously worked at IWC Schaffhausen and A. Lange & Söhne.
